Nacelle

The Nacelle is the part of the turbine that houses the components that transform the wind’s kinetic energy into mechanical energy to turn a generator, which then produces electricity. Most Nacelles have common components, such as a hub, a rotor, a gearbox, a generator, inverters, hydraulics, and bearings. It sits on top of a yaw bearing that allows it to rotate as the wind direction changes. The Nacelle must be easily accessible for maintenance and repair work.
